As he gathered his surroundings he rolled out of sight behind some rocks. His blue green eyes immediately found the overgrown humanoid skeleton. The long bony legs folded over each other to make it several feet smaller, while an ancient breast plate and circlet decorated it. It paced across the floor mindlessly. Behind it he could see the light from a hole in the ceiling, right next to the end of the cave.
As he quietly thought that Blake was correct in his theory, Leiko shot out of the ground. She almost screamed but Prism tackled her and plugged her mouth. Without a word he pointed to the lich pacing on the other side of the rocks.
She nodded, and he let her go. Again he studied the area. Some large rocks gave them cover, then the end of the tunnel, but the other side led back for around fifty yards, then dropped. It was most likely another cliff that led back to the amazon fortress.
The ground burped up Emeryl, who sat on his rump in a confused muddle. Prism hushed him before he could think to make a sound. Dazed, Emeryl crawled next to them and leaned against the rock.
Eric popped out next, immediately being tackled and quieted. They waited for a minute longer, when Bentora soared out of the ground. She stood where she was, perplexed.
From under her Blake shot out, tripping her on the way.
      "Oomph!" she landed belly first.
      "Sh!" Prism hushed them.
"You got them here!" Emeryl congratulated Blake.
      "It was simple." He retorted.
"If you're so good, get rid of that." Bentora pointed behind the rocks. Blake brushed dirt out of his hair, and he and the cat joined the group.
      "It's the hole." Blake said.
"It's a lich queen." Prism added.
"No problem, how'd you get rid of the first one?" Blake asked.
"I called lightning while Alan held it off." Prism glowered at him.
      "Alan?" Blake repeated.
"Eric's brother, he's the one in the sword." He explained.
"Oh, him." Blake thought, "Well, that doesn't help us at a..."
"Maskini!" Emeryl suddenly announced as hushed as he could. They all glanced up from their spots. On the edge of the cliff the white boy smiled at him. It almost appeared as if he was glowing with a pure light.
"How did he get here?" Bentora demanded.
      "I don't know." Blake shrugged.
"I..." Eric began, trying to remember.
The boy beamed so brightly they could see his smile from where they were. Emeryl broke into a grin too, and had to be held back so he didn't do anything foolish.
In his cheerful manner the boy trotted over to them. They tried to motion for him to stay down and out of sight, but he didn't notice. Quietly he started climbing over the rocks. Emeryl tried to grab his foot but he squirmed away.
"No! Don't!" Emeryl rushed after him but the others held him back.
      "Who?" Leiko glanced around.
"Maskini! Maskini!" Emeryl hissed as the other priest trotted directly up to the lich, as if to challenge it. From a safe distance they watched as he danced gracefully around its claws. Boldly he twirled around it, keeping its limited attention focused on him. Soon he began leading it to the left, to the right, and around again.
Emeryl timidly watched his secretive friend taunt the lich with his spins. The boy was much faster than he looked, always being one foot away from the razor sharp claws.
Slowly he turned towards the group, still leading the lich. Abruptly he bolted. He nearly leapt over the rocks and continued, lich on his heels. The group ducked as they flew overhead.
      "Maskini!" Emeryl shouted at him.
The white boy reached a few yards away from the cliff and slumped down. His legs crumpled under him and suddenly he was helpless.
"Maskini!" Emeryl leapt off the ground.
Eric watched the boy fall, fearfully trying to see everything around at once instead of concentrating on the lich.
      "I... I remember..." he whispered.
