"Put that down!" Ariana chased after the little rat. Hugging the oversized hat, Leiko jumped on tables and chairs, trying to escape the angry priestess. Without her hat Ariana's short blue hair ruffled in the pursuit as she hunted down the thief.
"Get your own man!" Leiko screamed back, crawling under a small round table. Ariana dove after her, hitting her head on the underbelly of it.
Emeryl entered the doorway seeing Ariana's legs kicking out from under the table. From the other side Leiko wiggled out, holding up the oversized hat.
"Stop being so immature!" Ariana screamed. Leiko shoved the hat back under the table where Ariana was. Teary eyed she darted to Emeryl and clung to him like static.
"She's chasing me!" Leiko sobbed. Confused, Emeryl patted her on the head. Ariana backed out of the table, retrieving her hat.
"She's disturbing my work!" Ariana placed the hat on her head.
"Oh... sorry?" Emeryl blinked twice, rubbing behind Leiko's ears, "She's just a kid, go easy on her."
At that Leiko clutched to him tighter, lowering her ears.
"Yes, I know, she is just a kid." Ariana repeated loudly with a smirk. Leiko glared at her hatefully from Emeryl's robes.
"We'll be heading off soon. Prism says we'll wait to give Blake time to rest, we'll eat, and then we're off." Emeryl informed them.
"So soon?" Ariana asked. Leiko's muffled snicker reached her ears.
"We don't want to be a burden." Emeryl replied.
"Well then." Ariana drifted over to him, "Take care of yourself." She pressed her lips lightly against his cheek. The flush in his cheeks immediately returned. Under them a small snarl disturbed the silence.
"I... I will." He whispered back.
