"Uhn..." his eyesight slowly cleared. A heavy weight pressed down on his chest, making it difficult to breathe.
As his double vision moved together it formed one large rock sitting on him. Weakly he rolled it off, coughing and staggering to his feet. Not far Bentora was still unconscious, lying in a pile of rubble.
"Prism... Emeryl?" he dug through the rocks. Finally he caught sight of some lime green robes. Ignoring his stinging pains and bruises he clawed his way under the rock and to Prism.
"Nnn..." Prism barely grunted as he was freed.
"Prism, wake up." Eric lifted him out. His body was twice as beaten and battered than he or Bentora's, with two black eyes and half of his pale skin a bright purple.
"Nn...a... wha?" he shook his head, gradually waking.
"Emeryl... Where's Emeryl?" he set Prism down and kept digging.
"Aaa... Wha?... What happened?" Prism woke up, hissing as he wiped his body off.
"We fell... I can't find Emeryl!" Eric kept burrowing.
"Huh? He's missing?" Prism became aware of his surroundings. By him Bentora began shaking herself awake.
"Emeryl? Emeryl?" Eric called, then cracked down into a fit of coughing.
"He's not here." A voice calmly told him.
Twirling his head, Eric, Prism and eventually Bentora searched for the voice. Out of the shadows a cloaked figure climbed off a rock and into view.
"Who are you?" Eric demanded. Pulling down the hood he stared at Eric hatefully with his emerald eyes. The golden earring attached to him shimmered as he exposed it to the light.
"You!" Eric stooped into a fighting pose.
"Yes, apparently I am me." He humored him.
"What do you want?" Prism demanded.
"What did you do with Emeryl?" Eric spat.
      "Where am I..." Bentora groaned.
"If you mean the elf, I didn't do anything with him. He hit a rock on the way down and got flung the other way." He shrugged indifferently, "As far as what I want, I understand you were climbing to the top. You're going to take me with you."
"What? Why should we?" Eric tightened his fists. Bentora rolled to her feet, bobbing a minute until she gained full consciousness.
"Because you can't afford to fight me." He tapped his nose, "Besides, I know where your friend landed."
Glancing nervously at Prism, Eric kept his fists held, "Should we..?"
"I don't know if we have much of a choice, he's right. We're not in any condition to fight." Prism winced at his bruises, fluffing dirt out of his hair.
"What you talking about? I'm fine!" Bentora retorted.
"Is that what you think? You don't look it... but maybe that comes naturally to you." the stranger sneered.
"Wanna come over here and say that?" Bentora snarled.
"No, Bentora! We can let... um..." Prism paused.
      "Blake." He filled in.
"Yes, Blake. He can come if he doesn't cause any trouble." Prism calmed her.
      "Like that'll happen." She spat.
"Come on, you're the only girl here. Be a lady." Prism tried to divert her attention.
"That's what you call a girl?" Blake snickered, "Where I come from we call that 'the stuff you scrape off the bottom of your shoe.'"
"Why you!" Bentora leaped back into action.
"Ben... Bla... Stop!" Prism snapped at them both, "We have to find Emeryl! He might be hurt!"
"From the looks of it, he might have been split in half." Blake added.
"Don't! Don't say that! Just show us the way." Prism hushed him.
"Why don't you just look for the shiny rock like you did before?" Bentora snarled at Blake.
"I already looked. It's nowhere to be found, so I'm going to use you to get out of here instead." Blake answered, "I would use it to fix your face, but I'm not that powerful."
"What? I'm gonna pound you so hard donkeys will shoot out your butt!" Bentora charged at him but Eric grabbed her on the way.
      "Emeryl first." He said plainly.
Huffing, she grunted and complied, giving Blake a very dirty look.
Feigning disinterest, Blake led them over the rocks.
