"Emeryl, wake up."
Groaning, he rubbed his eyes and crawled out of his sleeping bag.
"Is it my watch already?" he mumbled.
"No. I took your watch for you." Alan replied.
Opening his eyes, he realized everything was already packed up except for his few items and the tent.
"Why'd you do that?" Emeryl asked as he stretched to his feet.
"I don't think you're ready to take a watch. Grab your stuff, we're ready to head out of here." Alan untied the tent from one side and Emeryl ran out as it collapsed.
"You didn't have to take my watch." Emeryl snatched up his few positions.
"You didn't wake up when Prism pushed you, so I took your place. You're not ready to wake up so early." Alan shrugged.
"Ne, sorry." He flushed.
"Out of curiosity, why didn't you bring any bowls?" Prism asked, walking over to them with his book and a backpack.
"Inconvenience. I brought one kettle, three spoons, three forks and some wineskins. Any other dishes would just take up room." Emeryl replied.
"Well, if I were you I'd take a few bushels of berries while I was at it." Prism pointed over his shoulder. Several different berry bushes were growing nearby in-between trees and brush.
"I don't think I have anywhere to put them." Emeryl admitted.
"Put them in the kettle. We probably won't get another chance to collect food." Prism answered. Alan wandered over to them with the tent folded and hooked to his backpack.
"Hurry up you two, we have to get moving." He snapped.
"Oh, I'll be right there." Emeryl felt foolish for not picking the berries earlier or taking a watch. Quickly he ran over to all the berries, pulled out the small kettle and started filling it up.
"He never did that?" Alan asked.
"He didn't even think of it." Prism responded.
"Oh. Good thing he's with us." Alan shrugged.
"You're still not even considering sending him back?" Prism narrowed his eyes.
"Not really." Alan replied.
"Fine. It's not on me then." Prism spat back.
"Good, then will you stop complaining about it? I never asked you to come, you know." Alan retorted.
Prism glared at him from the corner of his eyes.
"How about this. I'll make you a deal. Don't get involved in any direct combat with me, that way, if I lose you can take Emeryl and leave." Alan offered.
Prism paused for a moment before answering, "Alright, that sounds fair."
"Done!" Emeryl ran back over to them, smiling to himself.
"Finally, we can head out." Alan gestured forward.
Picking the packs up from the ground, Alan led the group out of the clearing.
