In town Eric somberly tramped back to the alley he and Alan had camped at the night before. Over on the other side of the street, the two girls continued on about what they were doing and what they planned on getting.
      Inconspicuously, Eric edged towards them. Approaching hearing range he slowed to a stop, afraid to ask if they wanted to play.
      "Hey, what's that?" girl studied an oddity forming on the ground. Eric followed suit and studied the ground with the other two girls.
      "I don't know." Her friend replied, hugging her cat. The sound of her kitten hissing could barely be heard. A small bubbled grew straight from the earth, appearing as an oily substance with black liquids swirling through it. He couldn't explain it, but the bubble grew, knocking over the girl with her cat.
      "Ow! Hey! Help!" she screamed, edging away unsuccessfully as it engulfed her.
      "Stay there! I'm coming!" Eric shouted. Screaming, the bubble wrapped her into it and Eric stopped yards away. Sometime during the process her cat disappeared, and she clung to her head with both hands screaming wildly.
      "What is it?" Eric backed away slowly as it kept growing, capturing the second girl along with the first. Other people in the village began noticed to the dark circle, and ran out of fear and confusion, leaving both girls trapped inside. Uncertain what to do, Eric scampered away for the alley.
