Wind blew her golden curls around her ears. Locks of hair bounced into bangs as they stopped in front of the city. Nearby her travel companion brushed her blueberry strands into her oversized hat.
"We're here!" Prism declared as they overlooked the front of Ephesus.
"And we make our leave. Good travels to you." Syiera saluted them.
      "See you." Bentora sneered.
      "Take care." Emeryl added.
"Stupid. I never liked you anyway." Leiko grumbled quietly by Emeryl's side. Ariana slipped closer to Emeryl.
"I hope we meet again!" she answered, her eyes fixed on the priest.
"Me too." Prism interjected between them.
"If you're going then go already." Blake irritably interrupted.
Syiera smirked, leading Ariana reluctantly away.
"Let's go get Afina!" Eric announced.
He darted into the city leaving the others to run in his dust. Soon Bentora sprang past his heels in a half human half cat-like gallop. The city passed by in a rush of blurs. A sharp wind slapped Eric's cheek. Glancing to the side he saw Prism with Emeryl and Leiko all riding on a silver floating disc, which was about three feet in diameter. It wouldn't strike him as odd if Blake was taking his sweet time somewhere behind them. After all, he didn't even know Alan!
Eventually his pace brought him to the edge of the 'moat' outside of Afina's cave. Prism slid over the water in the disc, and had to back up a few feet to the shore. Patiently they waited and caught their breath as Blake strolled up to them.
"It's finally time." Prism sank the disc to the ground, retracting his spell.
"Afina!" Eric cried, "Afina! We're back!"
A small rumbling answered them as the blue head peeked out of the dark cave.
"So you are... You took your time, I assumed Aidan put an end to you." she lazily crawled halfway out.
"No, we have his gem." Prism flashed her the shiny orange jewel, "And we've come back to get yours, like you promised!"
She yawned widely, not even bothering to cover it, "Hmmm... I'll be right back..."
Her huge mass disappeared inside the cave.
"You think she's reconsidered?" Blake peered at Prism.
      "I hope not..." he whispered.
They were interrupted by her sudden return. She waded all the way into the water, stretching her neck out to them and dropping a small gem out of her mouth.
"Use it wisely or I'll come after you myself..." she yawned again, backing into her cave.
"Afina." Eric picked up the gem, "Thank you!" She gave a barely visible nod before she disappeared again.
"We have three gems now... Do you think we can do it?" Blake asked Prism.
"You best be able to, I didn't get these bruises for nothing!" Bentora spat at him.
"No, you didn't... I think we can. Let's go find a safe place to do this, a lot of people consider resurrection evil magic." Prism shook his head.
Hugging his sword Eric whispered softly, "You hear that Alan? We're getting you back..."
