"We'll sail all night and be there by morning." Blake explained. They sat around the well secured bonfire on the deck. Ships had come a long way in the world of elves, and simple things like a place for fires became normal simply to make the sailors more comfortable.
Hiding behind stashes of barrels, Leiko eagerly stared at them men surrounding the fire. Next to her she heard a soft purr but ignored it.
"Hey, watcha looking at?" The girl nudged in.
"Go away Valda." Leiko hissed quietly. From here they saw Blake and Kern head for the captain's quarters.
"Who are you looking at?" Valda wiggled her tail curiously.
"If you must be nosy, it's Mr. Tekutsu." Leiko retorted, "Be quiet!"
Creeping next to her Valda found another spot to peek out.
"Why are you so interested in him?" Valda purred.
"Sh. I'm going to catch him when he's alone, he's been playing innocent so far." Leiko told her.
"Really, that's so silly," Valda's tail swished enthusiastically.
They peered out at the bonfire. Most of the crew sat around, along with Lirit, Remus and Emeryl. Boastfully they bragged about their accomplishments and shared stories and jokes.
"I just need a chance to get him alone," Leiko sighed.
