"Captain?" the familiar silhouette of the drow elf leaned on his doorway.
Staring at his mirror, with his ample decorations covering his bedroom, he unsuccessfully tried to brush some of his hair behind his excessively pierced ear. The humming motors of the engines could be heard softly from nearby.
"Yes Kichi?" he didn't bother to turn. The reflection in his mirror told him everything he needed to know.
"We caught the people from the other ship. One of them is an elf." He tapped at the hilt of his sheathed khopesh.
"An elf? At sea? We're the only elves at sea." The captain turned in his chair.
"Well, he was on board. He was with two other humans... and what looks to be a half elf." Kichi explained.
The captain's eyes flashed a bright green, "Hold him out there a moment. I'll be right with him..."
Kichi nodded obediently and shuffled out of the room to give the orders. Passively the emerald eyes shifted to stare at the small painting next to his mirror. There he stood proudly at a bold young age, with his sister kneeling in front and his lover by his side. With a sigh he pushed out of his seat and headed for the deck.
